The Michelin Guide's review
The Église Sainte Marie, dubbed the "market church", has been out of use since the 19C and the demolition of its chancel. It was then converted into housing, then a post office, before being abandoned... until architect Jean Nouvel came along to revisit it. He restored its slender nave in an understated and elegant way, simply glazing the openings and adding a monumental steel door.
