The Michelin Guide's review
Under the impetus of Archbishop Jean-Baptiste Lamy and unlike other local churches, this late-19C cathedral is not built out of adobe but out of the local honey-colored stone. Its Romanesque Revival style voluntarily contrasts with the rest of the town. The north chapel, built out of adobe in 1714, is home to a wooden statue, "La Conquistadora," brought to Santa Fe in 1625 from Mexico. Greatly revered, it forms the centerpiece of a procession in June.
