The Michelin Guide's review
Vasilievsky Island is mainly known for the "Strelka", its eastern tip affording a magnificent view of the palaces on the left bank and Peter and Paul Fortress. It attracts strollers and visitors from all over the world who come to admire the superb panorama, especially in the evening when the setting sun casts its rays on the palace façades and sets aglow the Admiralty steeple. Menshikov Palace is a must, as is Stock Exchange Square where you can enjoy a waterside stroll!
