The Michelin Guide's review
This legendary rock has become the symbol of the romantic Rhine valley and enjoys a special place in German literature. According to legend, Lorelei was a blond-haired undine (a water nymph of Germanic and Scandinavian mythology) who lured boatmen to the most dangerous stretch of the river with her beauty and sweet song. From the top, the rock affords views over the "heroic valley" of the Rhine.
