Continuing south after Bahoruco, the road continues to play hide and seek with the sea and mountains. At San Rafael, pools created in a waterfall by the roadside make up a balneario that is extremely popular. Lay-bys command superb views of the sea below. The road goes through tiny fishing villages devoid of tourist infrastructures.
