Businessman Henry E. Huntington had an avid interest in art, reading and botany; the works that he collected throughout his life are brought together in the foundation that he created in 1919. Huntington Library, one of the major libraries in the United States, is mainly devoted to Anglo-American literature and history; it also houses a world-class collection of 18C-19C British, French and American art and is home to the renowned Huntington Botanical Gardens.
