Set in 50ha/123 acres of lush, landscaped hillsides and woodland, San Diego Zoo owes its prestigious international reputation to over 800 species of wildlife. Renowned for its conservation programme and reintroduction of animals into the wild, the zoo has released its giant pandas back into their habitat in China. The many activities on offer here include the Zoo 4D Theater, which projects a 3D-movie whose special effects take visitors back to the Ice Age and the time of the dinosaurs.
