The Michelin Guide's review
The mountainous Anaga headland is high enough to trap clouds from the north, making for a humid climate in which the Las Mercedes forest can flourish: tree laurel, giant heather and fayas, plants that are typically found in the Canaries. The road that wends its way along the ridges of the Anaga mountains commands some superb views; the vantage points include the Mirador de Cruz del Carmen, the Pico del Inglés and after the Bailadero Pass.
