The Michelin Guide's review
A small, winding road leads you to the Maria Plain Basilica, built from 1671 to 1674. Its silhouette stands out clearly on the hilltop and several oratories hang on to the latter's sides. Its squat façade, flanked by two towers, hides a particularly exuberant Baroque decoration. The visitor will be amazed by a combination of choir and side chapel altarpieces, pulpit, organ, confessionals and choir grilles.
