The Michelin Guide's review
This delightful white clapboard home surrounded by wide verandas adorned with a maple-leaf frieze was built in 1840 by Julie-Christine Chartier de Lotbinière and her husband, Pierre Gustave Joly, as a summer residence. The mansion has been converted into an interpretation centre, featuring displays on the history of the Lotbinière seigneury and the local natural environment. The grounds and gardens lend themselves to pleasant walks and picnics with views of the river.
