St Vigeans Stones and Museum
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The museum houses a major collection of Paleochristian archeology. The art of the Picts is well illustrated by the Drosten stone (no 1), a stone with a cross and animals sculpted on the front with symbols on the back. A red sandstone hewn cross (no 7) has carvings of biblical figures. The coffin-shaped tombstones are richly decorated; on the side of no 8 there is a carving of a strange bird.
