A designated UNESCO world heritage site, the oldest authenticated European settlement in North America sits on a grassy ledge facing Epaves Bay. In the visitor centre displays depict the Vikings' way of life and showcase the collection of artefacts found on-site. A film on the excavation work provides an enlightening introduction to the visit. Nearby, three sod buildings have been faithfully reconstructed.
