The Michelin Guide's review
When built the church served a diocese that covered half the continent. Completed in 1834, the church was granted basilica status by the pope in 1961 for its age and influence. The basilica was restored to its original appearance in 1963 and remains the seat of an active Catholic parish. The simple Neoclassical elegance of the mauve and blue interior strongly reflects the church's French roots.
