The Michelin Guide's review
The Lightner Museum occupies a striking building that was formerly Henry Flagler's Hotel Alcazar. Nowadays the corridors and guestrooms of old contain a hotchpotch of decorative arts and collectibles: everything from art glass, 18C embroideries and objects of 19C daily life. Also on display is a collection of minerals, weights, scales and tracing equipment. The museum owes its name to Otto C. Lightner, a famous Chicago editor and collector.
