The Michelin Guide's review
East Neuk, or corner, is a stretch of coastline dotted with picturesque fishing villages. It was in their harbours that the profitable fisheries that traded with the Hanseatic League and the Low Countries were concentrated. At the time, King James VI, described Fife as "a beggar's mantle with a fringe of gold". The charming village of Crail is more than worth a visit. At Ansthruther, stop by the Scottish Fisheries Museum and at Pittenweem admire Kellie Lodge, an excellent example of the vernacular style.
