The Michelin Guide's review
This church has astonishing frescoes from the Middle Ages and fine 16C furnishings belonging to a (demolished) Carmelite convent dedicated to the Virgin Mary and founded at the end of the 15C. The oldest frescoes painted in warm colours are very expressive; they embellish the left of the nave, the part that remains of the primitive church. Don't miss the 16C altarpiece, the Renaissance pulpit, the stalls and the sculpture on wood of the Virgin and Child, in late Gothic style.
