The Michelin Guide's review
The harmonious lines of this peak rise to an altitude of 974m to loom over the eastern bank of Loch Lomond, the "Queen of Scottish Lochs". Ben Lomond is the most southerly of the Highland Munros. You should allow 5-6hr to climb to the top, where you will be rewarded with a superb view in clear weather: the loch, the munros, including the spectacular Ben Arthur (881m), better known as The Cobbler, which stands in the distance, near Tarbet.
