Viking Ship Museum
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This museum on the bank of the fjord displays five Viking ships that were deliberately sunk around the year 1000, probably to prevent attacks by pirates. A 15min film explains how the wrecks were raised, treated and then pieced back together. The museum also has an exhibition on Viking society. In summer, excursions on traditional Scandinavian boats exhibited in the museum are organised in the fjord.
