House-museum of Giorgio De Chirico
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Born in 1888, Giorgio de Chirico lived on the top third floors of a 17C palazzo from 1947 until his death in 1978. In the small entrance hall, note the two oval paintings and the Thinker who appears to be weighed down by his own thoughts. A collection of self-portraits, still-life paintings and the famous "neo-metaphysical works" produced towards the end of the artist's life can be seen in the dining room, which is still furnished. On the top floor, one of the bedrooms offers fine views of the Trinità dei Monti.
