The Michelin Guide's review
Santa Maria in Aracoeli is the favourite church of many inhabitants of Rome. With a modest exterior comprising an austere brick façade, the church houses some magnificent works of art, notably frescoes by Pinturicchio (c 1485) in the Bufalinia chapel. However, the first thing to strike visitors on entering the building is the geometric floor adorned with large green marble disks by Lorenzo and Giacomo di Cosma.
