The Michelin Guide's review
Of the 900 baths in Rome in the 4C, those of Diocletian were the largest and finest; covering 32 acres, they could accommodate 3,000 people. In keeping with tradition, the baths also housed libraries, concert halls, gardens, exhibition centres and exercise rooms. Today the baths are occupied by the epigraphic and protohistoric section of the Museo Nazionale Romano.
