The Michelin Guide's review
Of the seven hills of Rome, it is the Palatine Hill, the cradle of the Eternal City, which resonates the most with visitors. Of major archaeological importance (Casa di Livia, Domus Flavia, Domus Augustana, stadium etc), this hill also makes a pleasant place for a stroll and has been planted with flowers and shaded by beautiful trees since the Renaissance. The Farnese gardens offer superb views of the Forum and the city.
