The Vatican museums are home to one of the richest artistic and cultural collections in the world. From Egyptian art to modern religious paintings, from Etruscan and Greek statues to Italian Baroque, the whole of Mediterranean civilisation is on display here, including a magnificent ethnological museum. The museums, always very crowded, also include some of the most important sites of the Apostolic Palace, such as the famous Sistine Chapel.
