Hôtel de ville de Riom
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This town hall has a pretty 16C courtyard enclosed by two corps de logis whose galleries with ogival vaulting are home to two Rodin bronzes (the Gallia Victrix represents Camille Claudel). In the corridor at the entrance is an enamelled lava stone plaque reproducing the reminder Joan of Arc sent to the people of Riom: she had asked them for money to supply cannon powder, and despite their promises, they dragged their feet before finally paying up.
