The Michelin Guide's review
Confederate president Jefferson Davis and his family lived in this stucco-clad mansion during the Civil War. The ornate Victorian interior reflects its appearance during the Davis years. In the adjacent museum (Museum of the Confederacy) is an extensive collection of Confederate war artefacts and E.B.D. Julio's monumental 1869 canvas The Last Meeting of Lee and Jackson (lower level).
