The Michelin Guide's review
Only a few holes, left by the beams and foundations, remain today of the splendour of the half-timbered houses around the square of Rhuddlan Castle, which was destroyed during the Civil War. The ground and first floors provided comfortable apartments with fireplaces. This is said to be where Edward presented his son who was born in Wales, the future Edward II, to the Welsh Princes' Assembly.
