The grey gravel surroundings and the off-white mass of the glacier contrast with the incredible palette of blues of the icebergs of all shapes and sizes that drift slowly in this glacier lagoon, which was formed between 1920 and 1950. As you head west and north along the shores you see other icebergs, and other viewpoints over the site and the glacier, which you can admire from close up. Jökulsárlón offers visitors a perfect experience of a frozen world without having to travel to the poles!
