The Michelin Guide's review
The museum, installed in a former fish canning factory very close to the quayside, recounts the maritime history of Iceland. Artefacts, models, photographs, cards and reconstructions show the evolution of fishing material, boats and canning techniques, and illustrate the difficult conditions of seafaring occupations. At the end of the itinerary, visitors board the Ódinn, a cruiser that participated in the Cod Wars that pitted Iceland against Great Britain in the 1960s-1970s.
