The Michelin Guide's review
Created in 1975, the Scandola peninsula has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. Erosion caused by the sea and the wind has resulted in magnificent landscapes of caves and fissures alternating with majestic cliffs and jagged peaks where ospreys make their nests. Life clings to the red cliff faces, where myrtle, mastic, euphorbia and cistus bushes attempt to put down their roots.
