Thurn und Taxis Palace
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The princes of Thurn and Taxis held a monopoly on postal services in Germany until 1812. When it was ended, they received various compensations including the old abbey buildings at St Emmeran. They transformed the buildings into a palace and made it their home, calling it Schloss Thurn und Taxis. The function rooms give an idea of the lavish receptions organised at the palace, which is still occupied by the family. End your visit in the Stable Museum.
