State-of-the-art multimedia techniques relate the 2.5-million-year history of the Black Hills region. This expansive building incorporates the collections of five separate museums-the Museum of Geology of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology; the Archaeological Research Center of the State Historical Society; the Sioux Indian Museum of the US Department of the Interior; the Duhamel Plains Indian Collection, and the Minnilusa Pioneer Museum.
