The Michelin Guide's review
The ruins of the abbey, founded in the 12C, paint a moving picture of solitude and fragility against the spates of the river. A few traces of the former monks, who became Cistercian in the 13C, can be seen. To the left is the 15C Chapel of St Michael, while in front are the ruins of the abbey church. The straight east wall is adorned with elegant windows and the vaults of the small apse are partially intact. The chapter house, on the right, is a fine example of 13C Normandy architecture.
