The Michelin Guide's review
Magura Cave (30 000 sq m) is one of the largest natural caves in Bulgaria. The 700m long main gallery leads to a succession of vast chambers where stalactites and stalagmites sometimes meet to form impressive pillars (up to 20m high and 4m in diameter!). The cave also contains an art gallery displaying hundreds of mural paintings. The most amazing of these is the solar calendar dating from the neolithic period. In addition, you can see the cellars of the Magura wine growers who make a Champagne-style sparkling wine.
