The Michelin Guide's review
Bab-er-Rouah, a gate embedded in the Almohad walls, is a zigzag-shaped defensive fortification. Two huge protruding blocks give a rather rough look to the stone façade, although it has nicely composed sculpture work: two large scalloped arches form the main lines; in each spandrel a large palmette flourishes amid interlacing vegetation, while an ancient quotation is contained within its inscription band. Exhibitions of work by contemporary Moroccan artists are also put on.
