The Michelin Guide's review
This small park beside Château Frontenac was created in the mid-17C for the enjoyment of the governor-general of New France. The Wolfe-Montcalm Monument (1827) is a joint memorial to the two enemies who died in combat, but whose meeting resulted in the creation of the Canadian nation. Note the cenotaph at the base of the structure and the dignified obelisk, whose inscription reads: "Valour gave them a common death, history a common fame, posterity a common monument".
