The Michelin Guide's review
Before flowing into the St Lawrence River, the Montmorency River drops an exceptional distance of 83m! In winter, the spray from the waterfall crystallises and forms an enormous cone of ice, nicknamed the "sugar loaf", which sometimes reaches a height of more than 30m. To get a better look at the turbulent waters, head to the viewing platforms, and to find out more, head to the visitor centre housed in the elegant Manoir Montmorency, the terraces of which offer a vantage point over the falls.
