Theodor Kittelsen's House
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Theodor Kittelsen settled in Lauvlia, alongside Lake Soneren, in 1899 with his large family. He decorated the house himself, with painted and sculpted motifs. The surrounding area, in particular Mount Andersnatten which overlooks the lake a few kilometres north, inspired some of Kittelsen's most famous landscapes. His rich imagination transformed the strange shapes and shadows into trolls, animals and magical characters.
