The Michelin Guide's review
This Baroque palace was commissioned by Count Sternberg and built by a French architect, Jean-Baptiste Mathey, little known at the time. The building's monumental core, lit up by two floors of windows, is entirely occupied by the staterooms. The space and volume are admirably used and enhanced in most of the rooms, thanks to the clever use of trompe-l'oeil.
