The Michelin Guide's review
The Czechs set up a public fund for the monumental National Theatre; the Germanophile bourgeoisie reacted by financing the construction of an opera house that was a smaller reproduction of Vienna's, commissioning two Viennese architects - Helmer and Fellner - to produce it. Behind the neo-Classical façade, graced by statue of Pegasus, is a fabulous neo-Rococo interior, which was entirely restored in 1973.
