The Michelin Guide's review
The first stone of St Nicholas Church, which was built for the Jesuits, was laid in 1673 by Giovanni Domenico Orsi, but it is to the Dientzenhofer dynasty that the building owes much of its splendour. Architects laboured in the nave, the chancel, the dome (where you can admire the Apotheosis of St Nicholas by Johann Lukas Kracker) and the interior decoration. In the bell tower, by Anselmo Lurago, you get a closer look at the statues decorating the roofing, and a tremendous panoramic view over Malá Strana.
