Bordered by the curving Vltava and the boulevards that have replaced its fortifications, the Old Town of Prague has a long history, discernible everywhere in its maze of streets and squares. Baroque churches, religious monuments of Josefov, Renaissance palaces covered with frescoes and sgraffiti and Art Nouveau façades all vie for attention. The Old Town is also a hub of culture events, with concert halls, jazz clubs and theatres.
