The Michelin Guide's review
The Belvedere, or royal summer palace, was built by Ferdinand I between 1537 and 1563, in the Renaissance style. Slightly elevated, with a roof shaped like an inverted ship's hull, it offers a beautiful view of the gardens, the castle and part of the city. Its remoteness made it an ideal astronomical observatory, where a number of astrologers worked.
