Poznan Town Hall

The Michelin Guide's review
Standing at the centre of the Rynek, this is one of Poland's finest town halls, restored in the Renaissance style after a fire in 1536. Each day when its bells strike noon, the Poznań kid goats emerge from the clock's mechanism. Inside, the Historical Museum recounts the city's history from the 10C to the war of 1945. Don't miss the Great Hall, whose coffered ceiling (1555), richly decorated with armorials, painted scenes and finely carved motifs, alone is worth the trip.
