The Michelin Guide's review
The garden was laid out around a lake in the late 18C for Friedrich Wilhelm II, who was very keen on English gardens. Small buildings are dotted around: Orangery, the Dutch outhouses, which were the servants' quarters, the Pyramid and the kitchens, set up in a building mimicking an Ancient ruin. The marble palace (Marmopalais) stands next to it. Cecilienhof Palace is to the north of the New Garden.
