The Michelin Guide's review
This attractive brick house set in well-tended grounds was built in the early 19C by Charles Prescott, legislator, successful merchant and acclaimed horticulturalist. Prescott cultivated new strains of fruit and cereals that were adapted to the region and gave cuttings to the valley's farmers. Prescott House Museum is attractively furnished with period pieces. The pleasant conservatory was added by Prescott's great-granddaughter. The garden is also worth visiting.
