The Michelin Guide's review
On this square facing the harbour, a long avenue lined with royal palms connects the statue of Mahé de La Bourdonnais (1699-1753), appointed governor of the island in 1735, and Government House, the oldest building on the island and typical of colonial times. Here on the Place d'Armes, you are in the historical heart of Port Louis.
