Poros

The Michelin Guide's review
Close to the mainland, Poros is a gentle, fragrant island offering peace, quiet and flowers galore. It is separated by a narrow channel from the Peloponnese, making it easy for visitors to also see the neighbouring sites of Troezen and Epidauros, two important settlements in Greek history. A channel divides the island in two: on one side is the wooded limestone outcrop of Kalavria; on the other is Sferia, a small volcanic island and taken up entirely by the capital, Poros. Its pine, olive and citrus trees, its climate and its sheltered coastline make this an enchanting place.
