The Michelin Guide's review
This grassy hill overlooking Popayán is said to hide a pyramid-shaped tomb, the top of which was reputedly destroyed to make room for the equestrian statue of the founder of the city. While the existence of the burial place remains merely a hypothesis, a certain number of pre-Columbian ceramic pieces have been found here and are now in the natural history museum. The hill commands fine panoramic views over the town.
