Island of Mljet

The Michelin Guide's review
The southernmost of Croatia's great islands is also the most wooded and home to a rich flora and fauna. A ridge separates the almost uninhabited eastern part from the less deserted western side. On either side, the countryside is spectacular. This unspoilt heavenly island is ideal for romantic outings under the fragrant pines of its national park, a halt in the monastery forgotten on an islet, a nap on a secluded beach (Blace) or a treat of freshly fished mullet.
