Neretva delta

The Michelin Guide's review
The delta was initially little more than a gigantic marshland. Drained by a system of canals which bound a patchwork of cultivated plots of land, the area is now an immense orchard of orange and lemon trees. On the distant horizon, dotted with rocky outcrops and villages, each house has its own private landing stage and boathouse. The reflection of the sky in the canal waters, the whisper of the breeze through the reeds and the dark green of the orange trees paint a particularly pleasant picture.
